The People Behind Our Work

Matt started his insurance career with Nationwide in 1989 as a commercial underwriter. In November of 1996, he started the agency that evolved into Simpson & Blom Insurance with a team of friendly, knowledgeable agents. Matt grew up in Missouri, joined the Air Force, and spent a few years in Germany before finding a home in Annapolis. He has a degree from the University of Maryland and is a huge Terps fan. He and his wife, Patty, love the beach, the mountains, playing with their dogs, shooting pool, and meditating. Patty and Matt enjoy hanging out with their four kids, Joe, Taylor, Ben, Audrey; and three grandkids, Scarlett, Luka, and Charlotte.

Coby started with Simpson & Blom Insurance in 2003. After six years in the Annapolis office, he left to work as a field underwriter for Nationwide and several other carriers. He returned in 2017 when Matt purchased the agencies of two retiring local agents and combined their operations into one location in Glen Burnie. Coby was raised in Glen Burnie and still resides there with his wife of 25+ years, Dawn, and their cats. Coby spends his free time at Deep Creek Lake in Western Maryland. He enjoys boating, kayaking, fishing, and working on various projects around the house. He also spends many hours volunteering for a non-profit organization that advocates for homeless animals.

Dawn started with Simpson & Blom Insurance in 1997.  Prior to working in insurance, she worked in the mortgage industry in Richmond, VA.  She specializes in Customer Service and stands by treating customers and co-workers with kindness and positivity. Dawn was born and raised in Baltimore, and currently resides in Glen Burnie with her husband, Coby. Her hobbies include spending time outdoors in Western Maryland, being a fan of the Orioles and Ravens, and a cat mom to five fur babies.

Jose started with Simpson & Blom Insurance in April 2014 when he was only 23 years old. He has come a long way over the years and now he specializes in personal and commercial lines insurance. He is also very passionate and experienced with the classic vehicle insurance industry. Jose grew up in Annapolis and he now lives in Pasadena with his wife, Krissia, and their three children, Genessis, Joseph, and Robert. In his free time, he loves to work on his classic vehicles, go camping with his family, and go to the beach.

Susan began her insurance career with Tim Hall’s Agency in 2015. In June 2017, she continued with the agency following its merger with Simpson & Blom Insurance. Prior to entering the insurance industry, Susan built a successful career in online & print publishing, where she served as Associate Publisher. Susan is dedicated to delivering friendly, knowledgeable customer service and supports the agency’s growth through its online and social media presence. Outside of work, Susan enjoys spending time with family and friends, visiting local wineries, and relaxing at the beach or pool. She’ll be the first to admit she’s not a fan of winter—she prefers flip flops over shoes and is happiest with her toes in the sand by the water.

Audrey started with Simpson & Blom Insurance in 2019 and she specializes in personal lines insurance. She strives to provide customers with an exceptional customer service experience and a better understanding of insurance products and coverages. Audrey loves to travel, and she always has her next trip on the calendar. When she’s home, Audrey enjoys watching horror movies with her husband, Paul, and taking long walks with their dogs, Piper and Indy.

Pam began her insurance career in 1980 with US Insurance Agencies in New Jersey as a receptionist and gradually advanced to the role of Personal Lines Producer. In 1994, she relocated to Maryland and continued her professional journey with Nationwide Insurance. In September 2023, she joined the Simpson and Blom Insurance Agency. Pam is known for her strong work ethic, commitment to providing exceptional customer service, and dedication to treating everyone with respect. Born and raised along the Jersey Shore, she now resides in Annapolis, MD. Pam has two sons, Austin and Adam, and maintains very close relationships with them as well as with her extended family. She enjoys attending live performances in New York City’s theatre district and frequently visits New Jersey to spend time with family and friends.

Zulmi started with Simpson & Blom Insurance in 2020 as a customer service representative, and got her property and casualty license in 2024. Prior to this, she worked in the medical field as a Certified Nursing Assistant, helping the elderly. As time went on, she found out she had amazing customer service skills, especially since she speaks both English and Spanish, which greatly helps her within the insurance industry. Zulmi grew up in Massachusetts, and now resides in Glen Burnie with her loving husband, Eddy, and her adorable baby boy, Thiago. Family is everything to her and in her free time she loves to spend time with them. Zulmi also enjoys going on walks, shopping, and focusing on herself.

Coritza started with Simpson & Blom Insurance in 2020 and works as customer service representative. Her goal is to learn more about insurance so she can provide every customer with the best service experience possible. Coritza and her husband welcomed their second bundle of joy in 2025. She loves spending time with her husband, Juan Carlos and her two kids. In her free time, she very much enjoys making new recipes with her older child, Liam, go to the park, and go to the beach. To Cori, the most important things in her life are her kids, Liam and Carlos, her family, and helping those in need.
